Shels to pip Cork and Derry: Collins

SHELBOURNE for the title - that’s the verdict of Roddy Collins whose Shamrock Rovers side, busy battling to avoid the drop, could yet have a significant say in the title race.
Shels to pip Cork and Derry: Collins

The Hoops take on Cork City at Dalymount Park next Monday night, and while most observers believe it’s a two horse race, Collins reckons that both could be overtaken in the final furlong by Pat Fenlon’s side, who are currently six points off the pace.

“I’m not a betting man but if I was I’d stick it on Shels,” says Collins. “Why? Because we have to play Cork on Monday and - along with Finn Harps - they’re the only team we haven’t beaten in the league. I want to achieve that and we’ll go massively for it. Derry play Cork in the last game of the season and that could be a draw. Shelbourne are absolutely flying at the moment and should take maximum points from their last three. Then it depends on the other results. And with just a few games to go, I’m not joking you, people’s minds can collapse.”
