Redknapp takes a look at Olisadebe

PORTSMOUTH are to take a look at Panathinaikos striker Emmanuel Olisadebe, who arrives on the south coast for a short trial today.

Manager Harry Redknapp is looking to bolster his striking options after losing Vincent Pericard to a thigh injury after only six minutes against West Brom on Saturday, and hopes the Nigerian-born Poland international - who turns 27 tomorrow - might be an answer.

Redknapp has been linked with Manchester City’s former England marksman Robbie Fowler, but could go abroad for his first signing since returning to the club.

Olisadebe moved to Greece from Polonia Warsaw five years ago. Greek sources are suggesting a deal has been struck and that Olisadebe is on the way to England to settle personal terms.

But a Pompey spokeswoman says this is speculation.
