Call for action on Aragones racism case

THE director general of Spain’s Upper Sports Council has asked the Spanish FA to urgently resolve the racism claim against Spain coach Luis Aragones.

However, Rafael Blanco implied he was softening his attitude towards Aragones.

The Spain coach is still under investigation for his comments about Arsenal striker Thierry Henry last October.

“We would like this case to be resolved as soon as possible, for the good, both of the coach himself and the image of football,” said Blanco, who then took some of the pressure off Aragones.

“The important step has already been taken, Aragones publicly apologised and admitted his error,” he said, despite the fact Aragones has never apologised personally to Henry.
