Vieira 'agrees terms to join Real galacticos'

REAL MADRID have agreed terms with Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira, according to reports in Spanish newspaper Marca.

Marca's website reported yesterday the French international is happy with the contract offered by Real and the clubs just have to negotiate a price.

Marca said Vieira is determined to go to the Bernabeu and the deal should be done in the coming days.

Madrid have stayed silent on Vieira, until yesterday when sporting director Emilio Butragueno admitted they were keen on adding the 28-year-old to their squad.

"He's a very interesting player and he's very important for us and our club," the former Real striker said.

"We're not there yet. It's a long process ... this week will be decisive," he said from Japan, where Real will play two pre-season friendlies.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is adamant Vieira is going nowhere.
