Gunners get better deal, says Mourinho
Mourinho swatted aside suggestions the club's reputation has been tarnished by the Ashley Cole and Frank Arnesen sagas and occasionally his own behaviour.
He declared that Arsenal have been given an easier ride with the Premiership fixture list and questioned the presence of Gunners vice-chairman David Dein on the FA's board.
"I'm not concerned about how Chelsea are viewed morally. What does concern me is that we are treated in a different way to other clubs. Some clubs are treated as devils, some are treated as angels," he said.
"I don't think we are so ugly that we should be seen as the devil and I don't think (Arsenal boss) Arsene Wenger and David Dein are so beautiful that they should be viewed as angels.
"I went to Brazil on holiday, I didn't go to chase players behind their clubs' backs. However, when I read the papers it's completely different. The devils and the angels are the same thing.
"After the first five games of next season's Champions League, we have to play away, while Arsenal are at home. This is a fact yet nothing is said. Is it only Jose Mourinho who can look at the fixture list and see something very strange?
"Why is nothing written about that? Why are different clubs treated in different ways? We play Arsenal on a Sunday. Why? Because it's Arsenal and the game follows an international. That's a fact.
"If I stay with Chelsea for five years then maybe Mr Dein will not be with the FA any more and Chelsea will have a different season.
"A person who works for a club should not work for the FA."
Mourinho was eager to take another swipe at Arsenal, this time alluding to Wenger's comments that the rest of the Premiership must wait for Chelsea to make a decision on buying a player before launching a bid of their own.
"Our rivals will improve.
"I don't believe we'll finish 37 points ahead of Liverpool, 18 above United or 12 above Arsenal. Liverpool have signed new players and will get better."
"Man United have only signed two players but they are a quality team, while Arsenal are waiting for us to make a move. But all of them will be more difficult to beat this time."
Man City midfielder Shaun Wright-Phillips remains the two clubs' only mutual target, but Chelsea have yet to make an offer, leaving Wenger to observe events while expressing his admiration for the 23-year-old.
Lyon's Mickael Essien could also complete a move to Stamford Bridge this week, but Mourinho insists the return of Hernan Crespo and Carlton Cole from loan spells means he is in no hurry to sign a midfielder.
"I don't have a new midfielder at the moment but because Crespo and Cole are back I can use other players there. For example Joe Cole can play in midfield and there are other alternatives. I won't be worried if we don't sign another midfielder," said the manager.
"We have already improved the squad. Asier del Horno has joined in a position where we only had Wayne Bridge, forcing William Gallas to adapt.
"We have Crespo back and I'm very pleased about that. I've always admired the way he has played football. The reason he left last season was for personal reasons, not sport reasons.
"Up front I'll now have Crespo, Drogba, Cole and Gudjohnsen. What more could I ask for? I have four strikers and we haven't signed any of the forwards we've been linked with. I'd rather have Crespo than any of them."
Meanwhile, Juventus may offer Arsenal an exchange deal to sign Patrick Vieira provided the Frenchman is willing to go back to Italy.
The Gunners have held talks with high-ranking officials from the Turin club concerning Vieira's future even though Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood's "gut feeling" is that the Frenchman will stay at Highbury.
He added: "Patrick is aware they have approached us and it all very much depends on what they offer and what he wants to do."
Hill-Wood insisted Vieira was still highly rated by Arsene Wenger.
"He had a fantastic season. People say he wasn't as good as before but I don't think so. He played 44 games for us and Wenger is not going to pick him 44 times if he doesn't rate him."
The Gunners, meanwhile, have secured a work permit for Belarus midfielder Alexander Hleb.
