Rivaldo wants to be Bhoy in 'temple'
The 32-year-old has previously stated Bolton were his "priority" although he was flattered by the Parkhead link.
But the deal with Sam Allardyce appears to have fallen through after the Wanderers boss became frustrated by a lack of movement.
However, Rivaldo has now urged Hoops' boss Martin O'Neill to make his move.
The Brazilian said: "Scotland is a paradise for forwards and to play for Celtic would be sensational for a Brazilian.
"Glasgow is a temple of football. It would be very nice to play there.
"The Scottish supporters are magnificent. For them a player is sacred and they defend him to the maximum. They are an example for other countries.
"To play in the Champions League is very important to me and that will be a favourable point.
"I am not auctioning myself to the highest bidder. At my age, although I am in good physical condition, I cannot make another error like I did in Italy I want to enjoy football.
Celtic star Bobo Balde is happy to sign a new four-year contract with the club - whether manager Martin O'Neill remains at Parkhead for the full duration or not.
Balde said: "Of course I want to stay because I know the club want me and I am happy with this club."
