Rush says Savage should play again in an emergency

WALES legend Ian Rush has claimed Robbie Savage should have made himself available to play for his country in an emergency.

Savage announced his Welsh retirement in acrimonious circumstances, minutes after being told he would not be in the squad for the forthcoming double-header with Austria by new boss John Toshack.

There has never been any love lost between the pair and most believe a major fall-out was inevitable.
