O’Leary ready to gamble on Angel

ASTON VILLA manager David O’Leary is set to play Juan Pablo Angel in Sunday’s derby at Birmingham despite fears the striker will still be jetlagged.

Angel, 29, will not be back in England until late today after playing for Colombia in a World Cup qualifier with Paraguay.

O’Leary would normally leave out Angel but Milan Baros is a doubt due to an Achilles problem.

O’Leary is keen for Villa to break their poor run against their rivals and register their first Premiership victory over Birmingham in seven attempts.

Kevin Phillips may play some part after recovering from a calf strain.
