Injuries rob Kerr of chance to experiment with midfield

BRIAN KERR yesterday expressed his regret that injuries had robbed him of the opportunity of seeing Celtic sensation Liam Miller and his former team-mate, Colin Healy of Sunderland, in action against Canada at Lansdowne Road tomorrow.

Injuries rob Kerr of chance to experiment with midfield

Miller, with a hamstring problem, and Healy, with a sore foot, were unable to train yesterday with Ireland at Malahide and Ireland's medical team ruled them out of contention for a match that Kerr described as his first opportunity of experimenting with the team since he took over twelve months ago.

Miller and Andy Reid (Nottingham Forest) were the only two uncapped players in the squad for the match against Canada, and while Healy will return to Sunderland today, Miller will remain with the squad if Celtic permit.
