DARREN Carter is urging for the future of his Birmingham City midfield partner Robbie Savage to be resolved sooner rather than later.

Carter calls for midfield partner Savage to stay

Carter has formed an impressive partnership with Savage since being recalled from a loan spell with Sunderland and the pair will line out in tonight’s home Premiership clash with Bolton.

But the England U-20 player is also aware of the speculation linking Savage with a move to Blackburn.

Blackburn are expected to up their offer to £2.7million for the Welsh international in the coming days.

Carter said: “I’ve enjoyed playing with Sav and hopefully the partnership will continue. He gets everyone going. He’s a born winner and to have someone like that in the side is fantastic because it rubs off on you.”

Savage signed a four-year deal last year but has not given a full blooded commitment about his future.
