Robinson out of Spurs’ crucial Euro clash against Boro

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR goalkeeper Paul Robinson is out of the crucial bid for European football at Middlesbrough after his knee injury was found to be worse than first thought.

The England number one came off with a dead leg near the end of the 5-1 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, a result which moved Spurs closer to a coveted UEFA Cup place.

Head coach Martin Jol initially said Robinson would be fit for the Boro match but a second scan revealed he had torn knee ligaments.
