THE Football Association of Ireland are set to take a €150,000 hit on the Genesis report — even before its recommendation that the Irish team travel alone on charter flights is put into operation.

The FAI will lose an estimated €50,000 on next week’s flight to Greece and double that when the Republic resume European Championship action with a double header in Georgia and Albania next March.

Last month FAI bosses, before they became aware of the travel advice in the Genesis review, sanctioned a charter flight for the friendly against Greece in Athens.
