DUNCAN FERGUSON came in for high praise from Everton manager David Moyes after his two-goal display saw off Norwich, which isn’t bad for a player whose future at the club was in doubt after a training ground bust-up with the boss.

The giant Scot was reported to be a loan target for Bradford and even his old club Rangers were mentioned in dispatches. However, he proved against the First Division leaders that he is still a handful for any team when he is in the mood.

Two penalties and one of those abrasive displays that strike fear into opponents showed that Ferguson does not fancy being put out to pasture just yet.
