THE Republic of Ireland schools team will bid to retain the Centenary Shield tonight when they take on Northern Ireland at Century Homes Park, Monaghan (7pm).

Ireland will be bidding to build on last week’s 1-0 away victory to England, courtesy of a Conor Sammon header.

Manager Hugh Colhoun makes just one change to the squad with Noel McGinnity coming in for Eoin McCormack.

The squad features ten players from the Eircom League with champions Shelbourne supplying three members.
