Defoe not for sale, says Tottenham manager

JERMAIN DEFOE is not for sale, according to Tottenham manager Martin Jol.

Defoe has scored nine goals in 17 appearances this season to provide a rare bright spark in a miserable run which has seen Spurs lose previous boss Jacques Santini and plummet to the lower reaches of the Premiership.

The 22-year-old’s form in the white shirts of Spurs and England has prompted reports of an imminent £15m bid from London rivals Chelsea, which Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho yesterday insisted were “completely untrue.” Nevertheless, Jol vowed to cling on to his prize asset.
