Shots miss Bolivia keeper

BOLIVIA goalkeeper Leonardo Fernandez escaped unscathed when two men on a motorbike shot at his car in the city of Santa Cruz.

Fernandez, who plays for Santa Cruz-based club Oriente Petrolero, was with Argentine team mate Lucas Fernandez when the incident happened on Sunday night.

Earlier on Sunday, the 30-year-old goalkeeper had played for Oriente in a 3-1 defeat at home to Wilstermann in a Bolivian Clausura championship match.

Fernandez, who was born in Argentina, was due to join the Bolivia squad to prepare for Saturday’s friendly against Guatemala.
