Aldo clears up FAI 'misunderstanding'

JOHN ALDRIDGE has conceded that the FAI did not set up any meetings with him in respect of the Irish manager's job.

This contradicts charges that had been made in a column which appeared under his name in an evening newspaper on Monday.

FAI chief executive John Delaney had reacted strongly in denying the accusations, and the association now appears to have been exonerated by a statement issued in Aldridge's name.
