Blackburn lashed over Savage bid

BIRMINGHAM owner David Sullivan has launched an angry attack on Blackburn over their bid to sign Robbie Savage.

The Blues have turned down two offers from Rovers for their skipper, who has handed in a transfer request.

“There is absolutely no question in my mind that Robbie Savage has been tapped up by Blackburn,” Sullivan said.

“It’s outrageous, disgraceful and, quite frankly, despicable behaviour. I have always enjoyed a good relationship with the people at Blackburn and I can only put it down to the naivety of their manager Mark Hughes and the bitterness of his assistant Mark Bowen who left Birmingham on extremely bad terms.

“We have stopped short of reporting them because we believe it serves no purpose. And what will the Premier League do? Slap them on the wrist and fine them £50,000?”
