Longford get licence

LONGFORD TOWN have been awarded a Premier Division licence, meaning that all 22 eircom league clubs have now been cleared for participation in the new season.

The UEFA Club Licensing Appeals Board received further information and documentation from the club which enabled it to award the licence, the last to be handed out in the process.

FAI interim Chief Executive John Delaney said: “The FAI Club Licensing Department will invite in all clubs over the next few weeks for a formal review of the 2005 licensing process and to prepare for 2006.”
