Juninho will deliver goods, says O’Neill
The Brazil international enjoyed a scintillating debut in the 1-0 win over Rangers in August but has failed to hit the same heights since.
The 31-year-old enjoyed only his second full 90 minutes with the Hoops in the win at Dundee United on Sunday.
Juninho also missed a simple open goal at Tannadice.
However, the Parkhead boss has urged Celtic supporters to be patient with the Brazilian, who is now wearing the number seven shirt of Celts’ goal hero Henrik Larsson.
O’Neill told the Celtic View: “I know that it generally takes a wee bit of time to adjust when you move to a new environment, and we know that there will be occasions at Celtic Park when Juninho will be allowed a lot more freedom to express himself.
“Sometimes, away from home, when teams come at you a lot more often, he might have to get used to a ‘sort of’ position, and that’s what we asked him to do on Sunday.”
