McCarthy starting to feel the heat

SUNDERLAND boss Mick McCarthy will head into Saturday’s game at Charlton knowing a ninth successive league defeat could leave chairman Bob Murray in an impossible situation.

Sunderland look certainties for relegation and speculation has inevitably arisen about McCarthy’s position.

Murray has warned there is no money available during the transfer window and admits the board are “disappointed and concerned” with the club’s position.
