Kinnear sends Reid to reserves

IRISH international Andy Reid has been relegated to reserve team football by Nottingham Forest boss Joe Kinnear. Kinnear, angered by the Irishman’s demands for a transfer, dropped the young star for the 0-0 league draw with Stoke.

“Andy has put in a transfer request and is regularly telling me he wants to go. Now he will play in the reserves,” said Kinnear. Reid has been linked with a move to the Premiership and was the subject of several unsuccessful bids from Tottenham before the transfer window closed. The Dubliner has since voiced his annoyance at the situation.

“It’s my ambition to play in the Premiership, and despite several assurances the club would not stand in my way if an opportunity came along, I have been denied this chance on a number of occasions and I feel I have no other choice than to formally state my desire to leave the club,” the Dubliner said.
