O’Flynn nets winner as City get spot of luck

UCD players protested bitterly when substitute Robert Martin chased a long ball into the penalty area only to tumble as he tangled with City centre-back Alan Bennett. The referee waved aside UCD claims for a penalty.

It was a controversial decision, one that could quite easily have gone in the Students’ favour. And to add to their chagrin, they could with justification claim they were unlucky not to save a point after a second-half performance that yielded several scoring chances.
