Vieira and Henry ‘stay’

ARSENAL vice-chairman David Dein insists French stars Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry will both be at the club next season — despite speculation that Chelsea or Real Madrid will make offers for the pair that the Gunners cannot refuse.

It is the biggest indication yet that the Gunners are determined to tie Vieira to a new deal to prevent him leaving on a free transfer a year from now, and that they will resist any big-money offers in the meantime. He said: "Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira will not be leaving Arsenal Football Club."

Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz believes the chances of Vieira leaving Arsenal are "50-50" and that the Spanish champions would not be the only interested parties.
