ADRIAN MUTU may claim to be in “open conflict” with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho but assistant manager Steve Clarke believes harmony within the camp has been a key ingredient to the Blues’ great start to the season.

Mutu, a £15.8million signing by Claudio Ranieri in August last year from Parma, has found himself out of favour at Stamford Bridge since Mourinho succeeded the Italian.

A knee injury was the reason given for his absence against Liverpool on Sunday but Mutu claims he is fit to play and has flown out to join up with the Romania squad for their World Cup clash with the Czech Republic.
