Tiago and Viana return

PORTUGAL coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has made changes for the World Cup double header with Liechtenstein and Latvia that should see the national side qualify for the 2006 World Cup.

Newcastle midfielder Hugo Viana, currently on loan at Valencia, and Lyon’s former Chelsea midfielder Tiago both return to the national side for the home matches.

Victory on October 8 against Liechtenstein in Aveiro or against Latvia in Porto four days later will see Portugal through as winners of Group Three.
