Morrow quits coaching job at Dallas Burn for family
Belfast-born Morrow, 34, left on Monday for personal reasons and will return to London where his wife and children continued to live during his time in the US.
He was in his first year as an assistant to another former Northern Ireland international, Colin Clarke. He had spent the previous two seasons as a player having joined from QPR but was forced to retire towards the end of the 2003 season due to a neck injury.
Clarke and Morrow are credited with turning things round after a miserable campaign in 2003 which saw the Burn finish the leakiest defence and the fewest goals in the league.
Clarke said of Morrow: “Ultimately, we all understand how important family is and therefore we respect his decision and wish Steve and his family the best of luck.”
