Inter qualify on the away goals rule and could now meet city rivals AC Milan if they beat Ajax at home tonight.

Valencia were on the back foot even before the match, having gone down 1-0 in Milan. As well as that there was the added knowledge that they would be playing in front of Inter coach Hector Cuper, who took them to two successive Champions League finals.
