Shearer denies rift with Robson after substitution

NEWCASTLE skipper Alan Shearer has played down talk of a spat between he and manager Bobby Robson after he was substituted again during last night’s friendly defeat at Celtic.

The 33-year-old, as he did against Sporting Lisbon on Sunday, made way for Patrick Kluivert on the hour and appeared to pass comment as he walked past the Magpies’ boss on his way to the bench.

However, he was in diplomatic mood as he was questioned about his reaction after the game.
