Byrne collected Brian Gannon’s pass in his stride to turn and fire home the opener on six minutes. Finn added a superb second on 24 minutes, dummying to Byrne, then collecting the pass to shoot past Morgan Cranley.

Daniel Ennis headed home Brian King’s corner to pull a goal back on 74 minutes, but UCD were worthy winners.
