Bielsa resigns as Argentina coach

ARGENTINA national football coach Marcelo Bielsa has resigned from his post just over two weeks after he guided them to their first ever Olympic title.

The 49-year-old Bielsa is nicknamed the “madman” for his eccentric behaviour and his volatile temperament.

Argentinian Football Association president Julio Grondona said that Bielsa was battle weary.

“It’s logical after such a long time in the post that he feels exhausted,” said Grondona.

“However I am surprised that it has come now especially as he is having a really good time on the pitch,” said Grondona.
