Manchester City gave the side funded by Roman Abramovich a run for their money at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, only succumbing to a 1-0 defeat when Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink bundled home a bizarre goal.

Keegan prepared his team for the fixture by paying no attention to the title-chasing Londoners, for fear of becoming bogged down trying to work out which of Ranieri's 30 first-team players would make the starting XI.
