Madrid join hunt for Deco

REAL MADRID have joined the race for Porto midfielder Deco, who was reportedly moving to Chelsea.

The Blues have already lured Porto’s Champions League-winning coach Jose Mourinho, while the Portuguese champion’s full-back Paulo Ferreira is also set to join the London club.

But a Porto spokesman said yesterday: “There is no agreement with Chelsea to sign Deco. Our president has also told me Real Madrid are interested in Deco. There is also a chance that Deco will stay with us next season.”

On Monday there were unconfirmed reports that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich entertained Deco on his yacht in Lisbon.
