Warren is player of the month

COBH RAMBLERS’ Dave Warren is the eircom/Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland Player of the Month for October. Warren was sensational during October, scoring nine goals in four matches, including six in an 8-1 win over Monaghan United.

A new First Division record, Warren is only the third player to score six goals in one League match in the last 50 years, following Jonathan Speak of Derry City and Finn Harps’ Brendan Bradley.

Warren scored against Galway United, twice, and Dundalk during October to bring his total for the season to ten, as he switched from midfielder to centre forward under new Cobh boss Stephen Henderson.

After two seasons with Wrexham, Warren, 23, returned to his home town club Cork City, where he struggled for form before moving on loan to Cobh last season.
