Mjallby forced out for six weeks with knee injury

The defender experienced discomfort in the knee that kept him sidelined for three months last season during the league opener against Dunfermline and was forced to pull out of the Champions League qualifier against MTK Hungaria.

The Swede underwent a scan on the knee over the weekend and was told that, had he continued playing, it would have led to a stress fracture.

Mjallby said: “I played with a lot of pain at Dunfermline last week so it was important to see the specialist and have a scan on my knee.
