Castleview level with Avondale

Castleview moved level on points with leaders Avondale after a hard-fought 3-2 home victory over Ringmahon Rangers in the Premier division of the Beamish Stout Munster Senior League as the weather again played havoc with the fixtures.

O’Shea Park was the only Premier division pitch that saw action. Brian Kenny gave Ringmahon the lead with Brian Healy replying with two for Castleview, one a screamer from 30 yards to give The View a 2-1 lead at half time.

Paul O’Leary then equalised for Ringmahon before ex-Rockmount player Kieran O’Shea grabbed the winner 10 minutes from time.

The only game in the first division saw Youghal dispose of strugglers Casement Celtic 5-3.

Michael John Hennessey with two, Graham Short, Barry Goggin and Seamus Forrest scored for Youghal, while Trevor Daly, Shane O’Shea and Steven Dwane got on the scoresheet for Casement.
