Shearer set to return against Southampton

ALAN SHEARER is confident of making his Newcastle return against former club Southampton on Saturday.

Shearer has missed the last 11 matches with thigh and calf injuries he picked up before November’s Premiership clash with Crystal Palace.

But Shearer is eager to get back to boost the Magpies’ ailing bid for a European place next season.
