CORK CITY manager Pat Dolan yesterday called on eircom League officers to take account of international matches when drawing up fixtures.

Dolan waved goodbye to two of his players on their way to the Youths' World Cup finals in the UAE but regretted they will not be available for Cork's clash with League champions' elect, Shelbourne, tonight. "Of course it is a great source of pride and celebration for Cork City to have Kevin Doyle and Liam Kearney representing Ireland at the World Cup finals," he said.

"We wish them and Ireland the very best of luck. But our season will end in another week and was it not possible to arrange to have the season finish a week earlier so we could call upon all of our players?"
