Soccer: Family first for Strachan

SOUTHAMPTON manager Gordon Strachan has dismissed speculation his shock decision to leave the Saints at the end of the season is stress-related.

The club announced yesterday that Strachan would not be renewing his contract due to “medical and other personal reasons”.

A statement on the club’s website suggested Strachan needed “a break from the demands and pressures associated with being a Premier League football manager”.
