Ireland couldn’t have had a more difficult group after their promotion to the top flight, when they were matched with current World Cup and European Champions Germany and European U19 Champions Russia.

King said: “Germany and Russia possess too much for us at this stage, but then that are too strong for most teams in the World. Our World Cup starts this Sunday. Scotland will be difficult and we will respect them, but, we are travelling to Scotland determined to win.”
