Megson may be next Forest boss

REPORTS linking former West Bromwich Albion boss Gary Megson with the manager’s job at Nottingham Forest will not deflect Mick Harford from his caretaker duties at the club.

Megson, who has been out of work since parting company with Albion in October last year, was thought to be favourite for the City Ground post following Joe Kinnear’s resignation in December.

Harford has won just two of his six games while in temporary charge and Megson has emerged as favourite to take over at the Championship strugglers. Reports suggest he could be installed early this week.

Meanwhile, Harford, who was in charge for Saturday’s 3-0 FA Cup victory at QPR, said: “I’ve spoken to the chairman and I know where I stand.

“It’s about Nottingham Forest and while I’m here I’ll just keep working away and doing my best for the club,” said the former striker.
