Ajax fail to break down Milan

AJAX and AC Milan, nine European Cups between them, had to settle for a 0-0 draw in last night’s Champions League quarter-final first leg in Amsterdam.

MIlan started brightly and Shevchenko forced a fine save from Ajax's Romanian keeper Bogdan Lobont after Inzaghi played him in on the right hand side of the box after just five minutes.

Seedorf then set his sights on goal on the quarter hour mark only for Cristian Chivu to recover some ground and block.
