ISRAELI midfielder Eyal Berkovic has left Portsmouth by mutual consent.

The former Manchester City star moved to Fratton Park a year ago but recently told the club he wanted to continue his career back in his homeland.

Pompey chairman Milan Mandaric said: “Eyal Berkovic has decided to finish with football in England and has asked if he can return to Israel so his contract has been cancelled by mutual agreement.
