O’Neill bids to secure Celtic’s commanding position
Celtic have all but wrapped up this season's Scottish Premier League title, the Parkhead club already 13 points clear of arch-rivals and reigning champions Rangers who are 14 points ahead of third-placed Hearts.
Meanwhile Celtic, last year's beaten UEFA Cup finalists, made a successful start to this season's edition of the tournament with a 3-0 home win over Czech side Teplice at Parkhead on Wednesday.
But O'Neill does not want the club to rest on its laurels and intends to make sure that four pillars of the club's recent success midfielders Alan Thompson and Neil Lennon and strikers John Hartson and Chris Sutton all add another year to their contracts.
