PORTSMOUTH coach Joe Jordan warned his squad they are not clear of relegation just yet - despite opening the holiday period with a “huge” win at Crystal Palace.

Linvoy Primus’ header got Pompey back to winning ways after two draws and a defeat, propelling them 12 points clear of Palace and the relegation zone.

But with Chelsea visiting Fratton Park today and a New Year clash with Norwich, Jordan knows Portsmouth could find themselves sucked into the mire with any bad results.

“It is important to have a half-decent Christmas and New Year and we got off to a good start at Crystal Palace,” said Jordan.

“We have given ourselves a good confidence booster. But we have got Chelsea at home who are knocking down everybody in front of them, Norwich and then we are away up to Everton - three difficult fixtures.”
