Zaccheroni resigns as Inter coach

MILAN yesterday announced coach Alberto Zaccheroni has resigned.

Zaccheroni took charge of the Nerazzurri last October after Hector Cuper was sacked by then president Massimo Moratti. The former Udinese coach, who also won the Scudetto with Inter’s great rivals AC Milan in 1999, led Inter to fourth spot in Serie A, which ensured they qualified for next season’s Champions League.

Zaccheroni’s cause was not helped by a number of disagreements with striker Christian Vieri.
