LIAM BUCKLEY was conscious of what it would mean personally to lead Shamrock Rovers to a cup semi-final win on Sunday over Bohemians — but he was more determined to stress the importance of the bigger picture.

“It is 15 years since Shamrock Rovers won the cup and that is just not good enough,” he said.

“When you consider the history of the club in the competition and what part they have played in the history of the cup, you cannot but conclude another win for Rovers is long overdue.”
