AN unlikely Champions League triumph for Liverpool this season would complete a series of bizarre coincidences with previous victories in 1978 and 1981.

The Reds beat Real Madrid in the 1981 final, and the same year Prince Charles got married and Coronation Street’s Ken and Deirdre also tied the knot.

Rafael Benitez’s side reached the semi-final of the Champions League on Wednesday, while Prince Charles got married again at the weekend, with Ken and Deirdre re-marrying last week.
