Birmingham stand by Bruce

BIRMINGHAM chairman David Gold insists manager Steve Bruce will be given the chance to guide the club back to the Premiership should they be relegated this season.

Sunday’s 3-1 defeat by bitter local rivals Aston Villa was a new low in a catastrophic season for Bruce’s side, which has been decimated by injuries and poor form.

City sit three points from safety, third from bottom in the Premiership, and Gold said of the Villa Park defeat: “It’s a huge disappointment but we’ve got four games to go, 12 points to play for.”
