AS the Saipan-upon-Lee controversy rumbles on, the players and board of Cork City FC are now expected to meet tomorrow to discuss the row concerning the club’s training facilities.

Saying it is over a week since he spoke to manager Pat Dolan, chairman Brian Lennox said yesterday that since the players had called for the meeting, it would be up to them if the manager was invited to attend. But Lennox did add that he would be anxious to talk to Dolan at the earliest available opportunity.

City’s pre-season build-up continues with a friendly against Cliftonville at Solitude next Saturday. Meanwhile, a statement from the Cork City Official Supporters Club says: “We feel the positive image of the club needs to be maintained ahead of the new season and hope all parties can sit down and resolve the situation amicably for the good of Cork City FC.”
